Black History POP ART!
In their social studies classes students chose an important Black American figure to research and recognize their achievements during Black History Month. As an art collaboration project students learned about the art movement known as POP ART. They learned about several artist of the POP ART movement such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. The students created a portrait in the style of Andy Warhol and painted a symbol that represents their Black American figure in they style of Roy Lichtenstein. They extended their project by creating a short movie of their process.
